Q3DM2 - House of Pain

The busiest area on this map is the rocket launcher room. It's often very difficult to get in here there are that many campers! :) There are two good ways to get the rocket launcher from a packed room. The first is to armour up (with the yellow armour near the plasma gun and/or the red armour in the water) and storm the room spraying plasma from left to right, or another enjoyable way is if you can get hold of the haste powerup first and dart in and out before people can respond. If, as the game goes on, you notice a persistent camper in there then attack the room repeatedly because that guy will win otherwise.

If you really can't make any progress securing the rocket launcher then there are loads of frags to be had around the plasma gun. There's a handy yellow armour right in the corner along with some top up cells and this is also a crossroads for three main corridors so there's plenty of fodder. Generally speaking, your opponents will be quite poorly armed usually with machinegun or shotgun so if you hog the plasma gun you'll rack up the frags. Obviously some rocket launcher people come out looking for the armour but this is still an easy area to control. Don't camp it for long though, go looking for armour in the water or maybe attempt to storm the rocket launcher.

The importance of armour can never be overemphasised. It effectively gives you another life and since it respawns every 20 seconds it's well worth lurking about waiting for the respawn. Once you've picked it up there's a little shortcut hidden stairway above it. You just jump on the broken stones and, if you're lucky, the haste powerup might just be waiting for you :)
