Tools and programs for use with Quake 2.

General FPS Gaming
All
Seeing Eye - Great server scanner for finding and connecting
to servers for most online games.
Gamespy Arcade - Essential tool for finding and connecting to servers.
PS2 Rate Pro - This
is the program I mention in my Tips section for increasing the smoothness
of your PS2 mouse. Nowadays most people will have USB ones though!

Quake 2
Essential
Files - If you're new to Quake 2 go here for the latest patches
including the 3.20 final patch from id and the CTF upgrade. This
is the Belgian Quake 2 scene site and includes a very comprehensive
list of just about every tool for Quake 2. Real essentials available
here include Demoplay (let's you double-click Quake 2 demos
from the desktop to view); PakExplorer (for editing Quake
2 paks)
NoCheat
2.34 - A newer anti-cheat program than Q2Ace and the one required
on most modern servers. Essential download as you'll get kicked
from some servers without it.
Keygrip
- Utility for editing and recamming Quake 2 demos (Check out my
REViLLA-vs-Icedude
demo for an example).
Splitdem - Sometimes
demos can be damaged and they'll cut out half-way through. This
program repairs demos and also splits them (as the name suggests)
into each map that was recorded.
All Item Timers - My full set of Quake 2 wav timers including Megahealth, Red Armour, Rocket Launcher, Railgun, Hyperblaster, BFG and Power Shield. Make sure they install to Quake2/baseq2/sound and bind them in-game with a command like "bind <key> play rgtimer.wav".
Pak Files - Improvements
to the graphics and sounds in the game to aid your play and awareness.
