Clan MKC - News

^ MKC 2001

MKC has not folded. The decline in the Q2 leagues and in the whole once thriving scene was making the experience very unenjoyable and we have now retired as a competitive Q2 clan. We withdraw from the UKCCL whilst still in the top flight, and many, many thanks to all those who made that success possible right from the early days on Wireplay.

Now though, as we move into 2001, we're going to concentrate solely on the next generation games. It'll be tough, we have no dillusions about that. Many clans have been practising for over a year now and we're relative newcomers. However, we're no newbies and we start out with a wealth of experience, talent and above all, enthusiasm :).

We are currently competing in the Barrysworld RA3 League, Division 2, and I have just enrolled us in the Barrysworld Q3 DM League. Following a recent clan meeting, the organisation of the clan has changed and the responsibilities are very evenly split across the board, which should make the running of the clan very smooth and less stressful for everyone concerned :). All the remaining players are keen to get going in DM and RA3, and we're practising and learning fast.

Sadly, many players have gone inactive over the months and the squad isn't as large as it once was. Because of this, we are on the look out for some new Q3 recruits. Decent skills and non-l33t attitudes are the requirements we lay down, so if you're interested contact me.

^ UKCCL No More (for MKC)

The UKCCL season is set to begin again soon, perhaps after Christmas. However, after a clan meeting we have decided to withdraw from all competitive play and we are not going to start a new season of the UKCCL. This effectively means that we have pulled out while in Division 1 of both the Mixed and Free Leagues, which is the best way to go in my opinion, rather than quitting mid-season.

The UKCCL is centre of Quake 2 in the UK and it's a great shame to finally leave. Many thanks to Alex and all the UKCCL admins who have made this great league available to us, all free of charge. Let's hope it continues as long as there are players still around who want to play.

Despite finishing, we intend to try to finish the Barrysworld League, three more matches. Hopefully we'll manage to remain motivated for long enough :). This is not the end of MKC though, oh no. The RA3 side of MKC continues and almost all the current active members are involved.

^ Week 4

This week we faced Clan W. I don't know anything about these guys, whether they have a site to link or anything, but I did recognise a couple of names. They put up an excellent fight though, shame we didn't ;).

The final result was a fair reflection of our performance.
