This is the best recam I have ever seen and
the best demo of any kind to be honest. The filming tricks
are really impressive and of the highest possible quality.
I remember watching the original Quake Done Quick demo and
I was stunned by that. These players have got together and
produced a demo where they complete Quake 2 single player,
on hard, in only 20 minutes. They manage a couple of the
levels in under 5 seconds!!.
The installation isn't as straight forward as
some. Create a directory in your Quake2 main directory called
"Q2DQ2". Extract the four files in the zip into
it. Start Quake. If you have it set up to play the standard
demo, then press the console key and type "game q2dq2".
A menu wil be brought up. If you have it set up to bring
you straight into a map (like I do) then bring down the
console, type disconnect, then type "game q2dq2".
Enjoy....
When I first saw this demo I assumed it was
one of the most blatently correographed demos in Quake history
(which was not necessarily a bad thing I might add). The
shots and skills on show are nothing short of fantastic.
I have since been informed however, by a member of the clan
itself, that the shots are real and taken from hours and
hours of FFA praccy. Judge for yourself :).
The moves and rails pulled off by this famous
Canadian clan are nothing short of astounding, and this
is a real spectacle. If you're interested in the clan itself
then visit www.xenoclan.com.
Sorry about the size of it but this is a truly great recam
movie - that you won't forget as quickly as most. Cheers
to [AoD]Haxor for the reminder. I saw it months ago but
lost it. Installation is easy enough, you need to create
a directory called "shift" in your Quake 2 root
directory, but it's explained clearly in the doc file.
This is easily one of the best demos ever and
features such an amazing display of skill that you almost
feel like giving up the game. Rude was amazing and a natural
- no question. The demo also has a thumping soundtrack and
all at 640 Kb. Brilliant.
This is a brilliant demo of some of the finest
players in the country ([UNR]Rude, [UNR]Luke, [FED]MenTalist
(now Exor), [FED]Bl0key, and more) playing a deathmatch
on Q2DM8. The standard is obviously fantastic and Rude's
POV shows us one of the UK's best ever. Enjoy!!
One of the funniest demos I've ever seen. St.Fr1day's tongue
in cheek guide to CTF. It's a hefty 3MB download but it's
fully recammed with a good soundtrack. Basically, it starts
off showing some god awful mistakes and then concludes with
some great skills. Recommended.
This is the match that the Q2 HooD team was
most famous for. A defeat of UNR. Of course UNR were the
greatest UK Q2 clan by far, that's beyond question. In fact
it's probably a compliment to UNR that a team would be remembered
just for beating them once ;). Watch as HooD appear to be
losing but seem to retake the match with incredibly uncoventional
tactics.
This is one of the most famous duels in Quake
2 history, but for any new players out there, check out
the ruthlessness of Thresh in the Quakadelica Final. Once
Thresh gets in control there's no escape for Billox...
Part of my original motivation for starting
this site was to have somewhere to show of this demo. It's
a demo of a duel played between myself and one of my former
"Satanic Inferno" teammates, Icedude. It was a
very tense match played in the now defunct Lineone Quake
League and it's been fully recammed by yours truly. Watch
to the end for what seems like the longest final second
in demo history. Please download this :)
Immortal was without doubt one of the greatest
ever players of Quake 2. Players of his standard have mainly
left the scene. He was generally quite aggressive, a bit
of a gobshite at times, but his play was always amazing.
I love watching him play because he goes for any shot and
doesn't die much. This small selection of demos shows how
great he was.
This is very similar indeed to the Xenoclan
demo. Clearly one of them inspired the other, I'm not sure
which way round it was. Anyway, this is another demo of
blatent correography but great fun all the same. It's slightly
"darker" than the Xenoclan one, maybe because
the clan had folded or something, I'm not sure. It's definitely
a must-see demo though so check it out.
